Gordon Wingate at 26 in Colorado Springs, January 1982 in a WWII-surplus diluter demand O2 rig. I got my altitude diamond in just over an hour at a Black Forest wave camp right after I got my private. Very exciting but not very challenging. I rode a glassy-smooth elevator at 1,400 fpm to almost 30,000’ then opened the dive brakes and came back quick so the next person could get theirs.
